On behalf of the Computing Research Association's Widening Participation Committee (CRA-WP), thank you for your interest in serving as a mentor in the NSF Distributed Research Experiences for Undergraduates (NSF DREU) program. We appreciate the time and commitment you are investing in this application.

Cost Sharing
Cost Sharing by faculty mentors is encouraged. The number of students interested in the DREU program has increased substantially over the last several years and many qualified students have not been selected due to lack of funding. To enable more students to participate, faculty are now encouraged to provide funds to support (partially or fully) students. These funds will be used for student stipends - the DREU program will provide all relocation and other travel support. This will not affect the selection process. All interested faculty are eligible to be DREU mentors. All interested faculty are encouraged to apply as mentors!
